In the Preston we recycle comingled and separated waste flows into various commodities to be used in the manufacturing sector to produce new products. These closed and open loop recycling procedure save in addition to prevent energy use and thus reduce CO₂ emissions that has been proven to adversely impact climate change.

Local Waste Management uses sustainable and cost effective technologies to create precious products from what’s thrown away. We generate green energy, regained fuel, recycled commodities and organic fertiliser, while creating favourable returns for our investors.

Glass:

Closed loop recycling of a single tonne of glass conserves 0.37 tonnes of CO₂ (open loop recycling conserves 0.2 tonne).

Local Waste Management has maintained 17,326 tonnes of raw materials through recycling glass in 2011

Paper and card:

Recycling one tonne of paper/card saves, normally, 1.3 tonnes of CO₂.

Plastics:

Recycling of a single tonne of combined plastic conserves between 0.282 and 1.171 tonnes of CO₂ depending on whether the recycled merchandise goes through open loop or closed loop processing.
